What are the Tennis Leaders Awards?
The Awards are a great opportunity for 13-18 year olds to learn new skills, get useful experience and increase their confidence. A leadership skills course can help people become further involved in tennis either as a coach, competition organiser or volunteer. There are a number of opportunities for young people to work and volunteer in tennis. These might include mini tennis lessons, helping out at tennis events or promotional days and supporting competition organisers
The Tennis Leader Award involves 10 hours course time and 10 hours of practical experience. Once this is achieved there are many other opportunities including Advanced Awards in specialised areas which promote learning and development. The course is not pass/fail but you will be assessed throughout the course on your commitment, enthusiasm and skill acquisition on completion of the course you will receive an official LTA Tennis Leaders Award Certificate of Achievement.
What is the Tennis Leaders Advanced Award?
This follow up course to the Tennis Leaders looks at player development and the processes involved. Players are taught to assess their own game through measurable tests and by using the 4 performance factors in the game of tennis. At the end of the course players will have more knowledge and understanding of how to improve their own level of play and those of pupils involved in coaching.
