Fiona Pidgeon - Junior Coordinator

Fiona heads up the Junior Committee, assists with the club coaching programme and is an accomplished player .
Fiona has attended a number of LTA courses designed to support the junior initiative at the club.
Fiona has been at Thame Tennis Club since 2000. She is an active member of the club and is now a Level 2 tennis coach having started to coach at Thame in 2005 working under the expert eye of Simon Langley.
Fiona is now looking forward to improving her skills and knowledge with new coach Steve Bell - she is involved in the mini red, orange and green groups that take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fiona also takes an older group of 9-13 year olds on a Thursday evening and on Friday she is in the thick of it (literally!) with her swarm of 6 year olds or younger who show impecible control and restraint - rarely causing an excitable moment for Coach Fiona. Well, mostly rarely.
Fiona is keen for everyone to have a good time on the court whether you win or lose. Fiona managed to do the 'Grand Slam' in 2007 by winning the ladies singles, doubles and mixed doubles and has a rating of 6.1 . She regularly plays in ladies and mixed matches and is involved in the very competitive singles league within the club.
In her capacity as Chief Controller of all things Junior, Fiona organises junior tournaments at Thame for the Oxfordshire LTA and has been educated in all aspects of this complicated task - people have been known to defer to doing Masters Degrees at Oxford University rather than face the trauma and mental agility demanded by organising a junior tournament. Fiona not only rises to the task but does an excellent job.
